Looks like it's Tuesday again...

I have a goal of finishing my current scarf this week (though probably not tonight!) so that I can fit in a third project for the Boobylicious silent auction.

Anyone else going to be cranking through things tonight?

o ravelry. +caribou

i'm #197 on the ravelry invite list. just sayin'.

so, last night jumi and i met at the caribou on lexington & grey fox. cons:
  • no Ben
  • no Will
  • is inherently less cool than the 612
  • jerkass middle-aged dude who was interviewing a lady for some type of school athletic team, who sat way too close to us and divulged way too much personal family drama and school political drama.

pros:
  • suitably cute & enthusastic Ben replacement
  • less driving for both of us, we're saving the environment!
  • better baked goods
  • i think the chairs are a bit comfier?
  • plentiful parking
  • jerkass middle-aged dude who provided the lulz

also i learned how to yarn-over, and then two hours later i learned how to properly count my yarn-overs. awesome.

Tuesday Roll Call!

Amber is off frolicking in the woods this week. I'm certainly up for some fighting tonight. Who's with me?

EDIT: Due to lack of attendance by anybody who is currently south of Hwy 36, we'll be meeting at the Caribou in Roseville tonight.

File Under Adorable

A couple of days ago I ran across Buddy Bags. They are adorable. And very well executed. Well played, anny.

Some things

1.) I'm #336 in the list to get into Ravelry. I'm hoping that means I'll be in by next week. Aren't you jealous?

2.) You've probably heard about this, but Team Boobylicious is doing a silent auction in mid-August. They are looking for donations of handmade items, so if you've got anything that you made, but don't necessarily want to keep for yourself, please donate! I'm using it as a stashbusting adventure, so I'll be giving them my finished Unbiased (once I get around to lining it), a beanie that I'm making, and a scarf I just started with a skein of malabrigo that I loved in the store but I'll never wear.

3.) Who's going to Stitch'n'Pitch on Sunday? I betcha that there's still tickets available!

Anti-Craft's Surprise

Dearest Anti-Craft,

This is what we were waiting for?

It's ok. I read the blog. I forgive you. Although, I'm not sure if I can handle any more disappointment. So puh-leeze let the next issue be supurb.

Miss you!
Amber

Allergic Reaction

On the drive home from FightKnitting, my eyes started to swell up and water. Apparently no one was watching me close enough last night at the Dunn Brothers to make sure I didn't rub my eyes. That recycled sari silk yarn is the devil.

Jumi gave me some extra silk to finish the bind off on the grocery bag I'm knitting... for the second time... because I'm dumb. So maybe I'll have a finish object post sometime this week.

This week's knitting

I completely forgot that my 3-Day crew team is having a picnic tomorrow evening, so, I'm officially a "doubtful" as far as knitting goes this week. Which is too bad, because I had an exciting new project to show off.

Exterminate?

This was completed last night at FightKnitting Club. It's a Dalek, the arch nemesis of Doctor Who. (Man, I sound like a total nerd now.)

The original pattern is here.

The Dalek (who really needs a name) is made of Cascade 220, and was knit on size 3 DPNs, size 2 DPNs for the appendages. He's about 8" tall and extremely cuddly.

I do plan on reinforcing the appendages with a bit of wire. At some point.

Homework

1. Find instructions for homemade yarn swift. My dad is pretty good at the wood work, so the instructions can be complicated.

2. Find yarn for Jen's union jack sweater. I don't remember the brand name... Anyone? Anyway, lets find a cheaper substitute.
dear fightknitting, i miss you.

tuesdays are really bad for me now. wednesdays might work. but, like, not til this fall. maybe.

see you then, i hope.

love,
jenni

Knitting is a go

Knitting is on for tonight.

Bring the A-Game projects.

Coffee shop gossip: The girl barista was not perky beyond belief the last time we were in. The Ruby Users Group is no longer meeting there, so we should have better luck parking.

Welcome to Fight Knit Club

Where we don't fight, we knit.

Join us (most) Tuesdays at 7pm, at the Loring Park Dunn Bros. Just look for the folks with the sticks and the string.
